after a large number of photos were lost whilst learning how to work the card reader (in lieu of a new cord) i quickly went out to the woods to shoot a series of close ups that i like a lot. (see new gallery entitled come out the wilderness...have you heard of the be good tanyas?) very reminiscent of bossfeldt's art forms in the plant world....one of my favorite books of all time. the ferns work so well as in their simplicity...the sheer complexity comes forth.
the deer skull was a gift from luna, the puppy and sits upon the garden post. i like skulls too; years of anatomy with andrew gerndt can do that to a girl, as well as affinity for okeefe during her stay at the ranch in new mexico. (the documentary is very good)magnification to the point of abstraction, giving a new perspective on a familiar thing...i am drawn to finding the lines&shapes within the form; like hamlet... a play within a play. there is always more when one looks closely.
can we talk?
i forgot to mention that after being reunited (and it feels so good) for one itty bitty blissful day of taking photographs with the happily-reconditioned-with- a-new-circuit nikon now the cord has frayed. are these people kidding me? do they wake in the night and secretly plot to torture photographers and snap happy teens by having one thing break after another. i know that ford does it, but now i think it is a mass conspiracy against consumers.
new mission: find new cord post haste
